For bike riders, the Vulkaneifel has a well-developed network of cycle paths that are great for both leisure cyclists and families. One of the most famous is the Maare-Mosel Bike Trail, which runs along former railway lines from Daun to Bernkastel-Kues. The route is almost completely flat and goes over viaducts, through tunnels and past the region's characteristic maars.

The Maare-Mosel Bike Trail, for example, is one of the most popular bike trails in the Eifel. It runs for around 58 kilometres from Daun to Bernkastel-Kues on the Moselle. Highlights of this route include:
